Summary
The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking to hire a Library Knowledge & Research Intern to be a part of our 2025 Summer Internship Program. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries.
The Library Knowledge & Research Intern will be responsible for reporting to the Head of Knowledge & Research Services to provide general support in data management, gain experience in utilizing various research platforms, and contribute to the firm’s knowledge – sharing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an interest in information classification and AI, pursing a degree in Library and Information Science, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment,. Candidates should be available to work on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote, from June 2025 to August 2025.

Responsibilities
- Create and populate records in the firm’s information database; perform regular updates to records based on ongoing project work
- Take the lead on evaluating and researching workflow tracking systems
- Provide exceptional administrative support to attorneys and staff while maintaining communication with attorneys, staff and managers
- Perform department specific projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be in the process of completing a degree in Library and Information Sciences with a strong GPA
- Ability to work on a hybrid schedule from June 2025 – August 2025
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships
- Interest in Information Classification and AI
- Previous office experience is a plus
ADA Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
- Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
- Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
- Ability to carry light objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance
- Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 15lbs

Pay Range
USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.Pay Range Statement
The pay range for this role is $19 - $22 per hour and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
