POSITION SUMARY:
The Team Member… customer service/repairs associate is responsible for maintaining and repairing rental equipment, ensuring a clean and organized facility, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves hands-on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing routine inspections, and assisting with building and yard upkeep. Additionally, the Team Member interacts with customers to facilitate rents, provide equipment recommendations, and ensure proper usage. The position also includes delivery and pickup of mid-sized equipment, requiring safe loading, unloading, and transportation practices.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Team Member willing and capable of performing and learning the tasks below:
Hands on Equipment Maintenance/Shop Upkeep
- Routine maintenance and inspections on rental equipment (e.g., boom lifts, excavators, skid steers, trailers, etc.)
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues
- Cleaning, greasing, and sometimes painting all types of various equipment that is being rented or used at our store
- Sweeping floors, cutting grass, and keeping a clean and clutter free shop & warehouse
- Snow removal
- Dusting, keeping tools neat, orderly, and put away in their designated locations, cleaning the bathroom and/or any multitude things to help maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility and yard
- Ensuring equipment is in compliance with safety and operational standards
- Reporting any necessary repairs, parts usage, and maintenance logs accurately
- Metal working which may include welding and cutting with an oxy acetylene torch… will teach on site
Customer Interactions
- Learning and running the front counter (service counter) to rent out and receive returned equipment
- Greeting and assisting customers in-person, over the phone, or via email to address inquiries about rentals, repairs, or general rental information
- Provide recommendations on equipment based on customer needs
- Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and kindly
- Communicate rental policies, procedures, and pricing clearly
- Teaching customers safe and proper operating techniques of all equipment
- Assisting in both the loading AND unloading process… ensuring equipment is leaving the yard properly secured for transportation and returning to the yard in the same condition in which it left
Equipment Deliveries/Pickups
- Delivery and pickup of mid-sized equipment (skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, wood chippers, etc.) with a pickup and trailer

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Note: Working conditions include both indoor and outdoor work
- Majority of work is performed inside of either the warehouse, shop, or service counter. However when needed, it is expected that Team Members will be able to tend to both customers and equipment outside throughout the entirety of the year
Indoor conditions
- Work performed in heated shop, warehouse, or service counter setting, involving equipment maintenance, repairs, and customer interactions
- The shop environment may include exposure to dust, grease, and chemicals such as lubricants and other cleaning agents
- Noise levels can vary due to equipment repairs and operations
- Tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, organizing tools, and maintaining shop contributes to a safe and efficient work environment
Outdoor Conditions
- Team Members may work in various weather conditions, including heat from the summer months and cold temperatures from the winter months
- Tasks include, but are not limited to equipment staging, re-location, parking, assisting with customer equipment loading/unloading, troubleshooting various rental equipment, etc.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting and moving of smaller sized hand held equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs.)
- Occasional prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, crouching, kneeling, and laying while performing equipment maintenance or facility upkeep
- Driving and operating trucks and trailer for equipment deliveries and pickups
PAY:
Starting pay at $20/hour
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Related work experience in some way, shape, or from is preferred
SCHEDULE:
- 8-hour shifts... on occasion, circumstances could require staying late or coming in early
- Monday-Friday
- Alternating Saturdays
