REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in job related area
- Wyoming PTSB certification appropriate for the subject and grade level or both, as required.
- Job related experience
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior relevant teaching experience
POSITION SUMMARY
Academic interventionists work extensively with students to help them improve specific skills and
strategies. An interventionist addresses the specific needs of a particular child when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. Interventionists work with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child using Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and prescribe for student academic and effective strengths and weaknesses, evaluates student progress and achievement, and continually seeks to motivate students for learning.
- Help teachers diagnose strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
- Work with the classroom teacher and district personnel to coordinate instruction designed to meet the individual needs of students including ELL identified students, general education students, and Special Education Students as part of the building MTSS system.
- Knowledgeable in the appropriate use of MTSS and tiered instructional programs.
- Maintain records as required by the appropriate programs.
- Use evidence based assessments to diagnose learning needs to target instruction and track their progress.
- Provide evidence based intervention and remediation for students. Progress monitors student’s growth and adapts instruction to assure students meet learning targets.
- Create and manage a teaching environment conducive to student learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers and the MTSS team, regarding student progress.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding colleagues, students, and parents.
- Maintain adequate and current knowledge of developments within the respective teaching areas and within the areas of instruction and learning.

SALARY SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Teacher Salary Schedule

School Calendar, unless otherwise assigned by the supervisor.

Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
