Job Summary:


We are a medical technology company seeking a Director of Marketing who will set the company’s product roadmap and ensure the successful introduction and subsequent sales growth of the Company’s innovative products into diabetes and healthy living markets. The Director of Marketing will play a key role in the Company's long-term success and be a leader who is eager to. This person will plan, develop, and execute the company's marketing strategies, campaigns, and programs. Responsibilities include leading product branding, positioning, and messaging; promoting awareness about the company's products and services; marketing activities related to launching new products; and interfacing with customers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in health apps and/or medical devices, with particular emphasis on the diabetes market. We’re looking for an innovative, independent leader who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, adept at wearing multiple hats and driving creative solutions to propel our marketing initiatives forward. Our Director of Marketing will be a proven leader with in-depth industry knowledge and a passion for improving the lives of our customers.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


Marketing

  • Develop short-term strategic plans and execute a marking plan that supports the Company’s goals, translating these plans into defined objectives, target customers, deliverables, and forecasts.
  • Drive brand awareness by working with partners and across the company to bring the products’ brand to life via influencers, content, PR, social marketing, and in-person event engagement.
  • Manage PR and Marketing external partners to ensure work streams are aligned across internal and external efforts while, based on data, escalating to marketing goals.
  • Ideate, propose, and develop disruptive partnership opportunities and social/PR-driven brand campaigns for product launches or key initiatives through co-branded partnerships, or limited-life collaborations.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders, influencers, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive brand management, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all marketing initiatives.
  • Create and adhere to the Marketing budget that identifies opportunities for maximizing ROI.
  • Maintain close working relationships with R&D, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, operations, and KOLs to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with Sales and other internal teams to ensure integrated marketing and sales efforts for lead generation and conversion


Market Research

  • Conduct market research and analysis, including market & customer segments, market trends, and technology trends.
  • Conduct competitor analyses, including key market participants, technologies and products in the market, and emerging players, technologies, and trends.
  • Continuously evaluate competitors, market developments, and opportunities for and challenges to growth.


Product Development

  • Actively engage in product development, providing leadership and vision to apply the Company’s technologies to customers’ needs.
  • Incorporate customer relevance and usability into the product development process.
  • Apply market research and a sense of the customer to the product development process.
  • Drive post-launch marketing efforts, including customer education, loyalty programs, and targeted campaigns to maximize product lifecycle value.
  • Lead customer service initiatives to enhance user experience, ensuring seamless communication and support across all touchpoints.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree desirable
  • 10 years of marketing experience in the life sciences industry
  • Extensive and broad knowledge of diabetes markets, including measurement technologies, insulin delivery, artificial pancreas systems, and consumer digital health products
  • Proven success with commercial release of consumer health products in both D2C and B2B environments
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Willingness to dig into details and drive big and small details of marketing
  • Ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets for forecasting and analysis
  • Experience building high-performance teams
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done


Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with ERP systems integration.
  • Prior Medical device manufacturing experience, with working knowledge of:
  • ISO standards
  • GMP regulations


Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position supports operations and sales, and requires working with Manufacturing, R&D, Sales and Quality supporting new product introduction, scale for growth and cost of goods reduction. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking along with daily use of a computer and other digital devices. Work may entail standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some travel will be required; therefore, maintaining a valid Driver’s License and Passport is required.

This position is on-site at our Irvine, CA headquarters.


This position primarily works in an office. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. It requires sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer display or other digital devices. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. Standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities may be required. Varying amounts of travel are required, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.

Salary : $120,000 - $200,000
