Certified Occupational Therapist ~ COTA

Job Description:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach their maximum performance level and utilize skills learned to function within the community's limits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OTR), carry out treatment plans and provide consultation on environmental design, adaptive equipment, and patient positioning.
• Instruct patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for daily routines, such as meal preparation and self-care skills.
• Administer therapy for neurological integration, sensor-motor integration, and visual perceptual-motor remediation programs.
• Design and provide individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
• Design and/or fabricate slings and adaptive equipment to meet patient needs.
• Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills and instruct patients in energy conservation, joint protection, and safety techniques.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment.
• English language proficiency sufficient to fulfill job requirements.
