Job Summary: As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients. This involves helping them develop skills necessary for daily living and adapting to various environments. Your expertise will enable patients to regain independence and confidence in performing daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify areas requiring improvement.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress and reports.
- Provide training on adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for self-care skills.
- You will also instruct patients on upper-extremity prosthetic devices to facilitate daily routines.
- Participate in home assessments to provide therapy for neurological integration.
- Administer sensor-motor integration treatment techniques and visual perceptual-motor remediation programs.
- Offer individualized therapy sessions for adult learning-disabled patients.
- You will design and fabricate splints as specified by doctors' prescriptions.
- Deliver prevention therapy to maintain functional skills and instruct patients in energy conservation and safety techniques.
- Participate in patient support groups and demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to fulfill job requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy is required.
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association is mandatory.
- Prior experience in occupational therapy is preferred.
- You should possess strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation is essential.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related software is beneficial.
