Job Summary
As an MDS Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the clinical documentation improvement process within a medical clinic setting. Your expertise in ICD-10 coding and anatomy knowledge will be essential for accurate patient records and billing.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and detailed clinical documentation
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and Athenahealth software to maintain precise patient records
- Review patient charts to verify completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with nurses and physicians to gather necessary information for MDS assessments
- Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement purposes
Skills
- Proficiency in clinical documentation improvement practices
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding and medical terminology
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately interpret medical records
- Experience working in clinical settings such as ICU or inpatient facilities
- Familiarity with Athenahealth software is a plus
- Background as a nurse is beneficial for this role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39.42 - $46.50 per hour
