Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and complete medical documentation in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of medical coding, anatomy, and medical records. The MDS Coordinator will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to facilitate the discharge planning process and ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation and completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct thorough medical record reviews to ensure that all relevant information is included in the MDS assessment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and resolve discrepancies in medical records and ensure that all documentation meets established standards.
- Utilize ICD-9 and other relevant coding systems to accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical documentation and discharge planning.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Provide educational support to healthcare providers to improve their understanding of medical documentation and discharge planning processes.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding, including ICD-9 and MDS.
- Proficiency in medical records and documentation, including anatomy knowledge.
- Experience in outpatient settings or other areas where medical documentation is critical.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
