Summary
The Communications Specialist identifies internal and external communications opportunities and needs based on organizational priorities and assists with the development of materials for distribution through various channels and platforms. This position will develop and maintain relationships with internal audiences, including faculty, staff, trainees, and students, and external audiences including journalists, community stakeholders, and consumers, to advance awareness of Johns Hopkins Medicine’s mission, vision, and values. This role will also assist in operational processes and analytical tasks as needed and coordinate with other Marketing and Communications department colleagues to implement projects and initiatives.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or related communications fields is preferred.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of experience in a communications field, preferably in a healthcare or education setting.
Salary Range : Minimum 25.73 per hour - Maximum 42.48 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
