The Wilmette Park District offers Summer Short-term staff the following benefits: Individual Seasonal Beach and Pool Pass, One (1) parking decal for Gillson Beach (over 16 years of age only), Individual Center Fitness Club Membership for June – August the current year of employment.
Job Summary: The Part Time Maintenance Worker is responsible for general cleaning, maintenance and physical appearance of the facility or school. May be required to open and close the facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Opening and/or closing the facility, unlocking/locking all doors as necessary.

Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator, stairways and locker rooms and other work areas.

Sweep and mop floors. Clean an vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and windows. Replenish restroom supplies.

Dust furniture and equipment. Polish metalwork.

Wash walls, ceiling and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels and sills.

Empty wastebaskets and trash receptacles. Transport trash and waste to disposal area.

Clean snow and debris from entrances and sidewalk areas around CRC. Salt sidewalks in winter.

Open and close skate park.
-
Move equipment and furniture as needed. Organize and maintain storage areas.

Set up tables and chairs for programs, rentals and meetings.

Operate facility vehicles to transport small & large packages, equipment, cleaning supplies and other items between facilities. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of facility vehicles both inside and out.

May be asked to work at another facility or school depending on the needs of the agency.

Promptly report all unsafe equipment, hardware, actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor

Receives regular verbal or written directions from immediate supervisor

Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

Actively support the agency's risk management protocol that will effectively control & reduce accidents

Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goala
Safety Responsibilities:

Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents

Obey all Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and property

Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor

Attend and participate in required safety training

Review all accident and incident reports that occur under area of responsibility with supervisor

Education and/or Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or job related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule could be weekdays or weekends, depending on availability. Extra hours may be required at various times.
