Job Summary: The Personal Trainer role is responsible for facilitating each member or guests connection with the Center Fitness Club offering personalized fitness and healthy lifestyle programs including fitness assessments and screenings of their fitness needs and then prescribing an exercise/lifestyle plan that will assist the members or guests in achieving their goals. This position will also include selling personal training sessions and/or programs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
- Establish and maintain accurate, current documentation records for payroll and complete payroll on time
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
- Every staff member, regardless of position, has a primary and urgent responsibility to clean and disinfect all club components as they are used
- Help retain and attain new members through club promotion and customer service excellence
- Assist the Fitness Manager with new member onboarding programming and initial consultations for new members
- Assist members with specific concerns on the fitness floor
- Provide safe and effective spotting techniques to clients
- Ensure members receive the highest level of customer service, follow-up with members and regularly update their exercise program
- Promote all Center Fitness Club programs through relationship building with members on the floor uncovering their interests and matching them to CFC offerings
- Provide and monitor quality exercise recommendations for individual clients, ensuring the attainment of specific goals
- Gather and maintain information on client fitness expectations and provide guidance for reaching goals
- Attend all required department continuing education meetings and relevant member appreciation events
- Maintain all client files to include a fitness evaluation and a copy of the client exercise program per industry standards
- Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled appointments
- Provide support to Fitness Manager in regards to programming and specialty workshops
- Willingness to step in and assist with other facility service responsibilities, as may be required to ensure that the facility delivers upon its Center Fitness Club commitment to excellence
- Responsible for growing program efficiency, satisfaction and innovation
- Work with the Fitness Manager to optimize resources and provider availability, while scheduling programs that meet the diverse needs of members
- Develop and present fitness and wellness related workshops
- Provide exceptional customer satisfaction by answering inquiries and comments regarding programs through efficient and timely communication
- Represent the Center Fitness Club in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner
- Schedule and complete a minimum of 10 personal training sessions a week
Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):

- The interpersonal skills necessary to interact with participants in a personable, enthusiastic manner
- Develop, document, and implement one-on-one workout programs that match the needs and goals of clients
- Instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them as to proper lifting and exercise technique
- Demonstrate on-going competence in providing one-on-one personal training services to clients
- The analytical skills necessary to plan and evaluate individual and small group programming
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Personal Trainer
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Considerable physical effort. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Must frequently lift or move average weight material and occasionally lift or move heavy weight material
- Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds
Required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
- Current certification in personal training by ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM, CSCS or other nationally recognized organization
- CPR/AED Certification
