Description
Job Summary: The Youth Soccer Referee is responsible for officiating youth soccer games for ages 4-14. Thorough knowledge of soccer and applicable rules to officiate each age group is required to ensure games run smoothly and players engage in good sportsmanship at all times. Referees are paid on a per game basis. This is a seasonal position with Individual Center Fitness Club Membership for April – June the current year of employment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents

Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings

Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
-
Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
-
Create a safe, engaging environment throughout the framework of soccer games
-
Thorough knowledge of age specific soccer rules including Pee Wee (ages 4-5) and Grades K-8 (age 6-14)
-
Positively interact with youth, coaches, parents/guardians and team members
-
Referee games within specific age group soccer rules
-
Provide positive feedback to participants and coaches during and after games

Communicate with other Park District staff, supervisors and team leaders as needed

Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals
Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):

Education and/or Experience:

Must be at least 16 years of age by first day of employment

At least one year of experience in playing soccer

Experience officiating soccer preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Must be able to work outdoors in various seasons

Must be able to run back and forth on the length of soccer field
Required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
-
U. S Soccer Federation certification preferred
Qualifications
