Wilmington Health Urology is seeking a Nurse Practioner or Physician Assistant to join our current team of three Physicians and two Advanced Care Practioners The ideal candidate will possess a strong background/interest in urological care and related surgical conditions and be enthusiastic about outpatient care, inpatient rounding and collaborating with fellow primary care and specialists in a fast-paced enviroment. Hours are Monday-Friday, 800a-500p with schedule flexibility when rounding and providing call coverage.
Department Specific Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with Urologists to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Educate patients on health management and disease prevention.
- Collaboratively provide Urology call and rounding coverage at Novant-Wilmington
Experience
Candidates should have a proven track record of 1 years working in a Urology practice or prior hospital inpatient urological and/or surgical RN experience. Additionally, demonstrated exceptional clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care.

Core Nurse Practioner & Physician Assistant Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary healthcare provider performing physicals, ordering tests and prescribing medications
- Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical and chronically ill patients
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients’ age-specific needs
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
- Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability including, but not limited to serving in the first assisting role
- Assists with the provision of surgical care, if necessary, in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations
- Monitors effectiveness of interventions
- Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
- Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by preceding educational tools
- Authorizes treatments and educates patients and families on continued care

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
- Current Nurse Practioner Certificaition or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Licensure or eligiblity pendin
Preferred:
- Minimum of 1 year of Urology Advanced Practice experience or RN Urological/Surgical Experience and a strong interest in Urological patient care
