Purpose:
The Director of Business Development will spearhead strategic growth initiatives by cultivating partnerships, expanding networks, and leading market penetration efforts. The role will leverage expertise in healthcare economics, value-based care, and relationship-building to drive revenue growth and improve organizational impact
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies to grow Wilmington Health’s footprint in key markets, focusing on independent physician networks, community hospitals, and integrated delivery systems.
- Lead the identification, negotiation, and establishment of partnerships with providers, payers, and healthcare organizations.
- Create and implement strategic business plans to recruit and onboard primary care and multispecialty practices, transitioning them into value-based care models.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including payer executives, medical societies, and industry associations.
- Conduct market analyses and assess competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges.
- Prepare detailed business proposals, contracts, and presentations for executive leadership and external partners.
- Oversee pipeline development, ensuring systematic lead generation, follow-up, and closure of strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and operations, to align strategic growth efforts.
- Mentor and lead a team of business development professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Monitor performance metrics, ensuring the achievement of growth targets and continuous improvement of business processes.
- Establish priorities, work independently, and thrive under pressure to meet deadlines with extreme attention to detail.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Expertise in value-based care, healthcare economics, and market penetration strategies.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead change management initiatives and transform business models in healthcare settings.
- Advanced proficiency in pipeline management, contract negotiation, and partnership development.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering results in fast-paced environments
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in business development, healthcare sales, or strategic growth roles
- Demonstrated track record in recruiting providers and managing large-scale healthcare networks.
Preferred:
- MBA and/or advanced education in health management.
- Experience with population health strategies, payer-provider collaboration, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
