Summary:
Performs cardiac echocardiograms as ordered by the physician.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Includes the following but other duties may be assigned:
- Prioritize and evaluate patient orders
- Prepares patient and explains procedures to patient; answers questions carefully and completely
- Perform diagnostic echocardiogram procedure in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physician
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment
- Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition
- Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies
- Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
Required:

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program
- RDMS
- Experience in cardiovascular pathology
- BLS/CPR certification
