Purpose:
The Employee Health Nurse acts the primary resource for employees in health and safety related areas.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Infection Control Nurse/Safety Officer regarding employee health issues such as exposures, vaccines, communicable diseases and other infection prevention/control related issues involving Wilmington Health employees.
- Serve as point of contact for employee vaccinations. Perform employee TB vaccinations at hire and coordinate TB vaccinations annually by collaborating with department managers. Administer HEP B and Flu vaccines and coordinate with HR for all HEP B, PPD and Flu vaccine documentation to employee records.
- Coordinate biometric screening for employees; collaborate with current WH insurance carrier to plan and implement the program effectively.
- Assist credentialing as needed when provider documentation is needed for NHRMC.
- Serve as a member of the Safety Committee.
- Provides any required employee health related training or collaborates with outside resources for training.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in an acute hospital or other related healthcare facility.
- Must possess a working knowledge of infectious disease, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state employed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred:
- APIC Certification in infection control preferred, but not necessary
