Purpose:
The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Performs telephone triage as needed
- Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician
- Collaborates and coordinates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)
- Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention
- Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
- Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
- Uses computer system efficiently and accurately
- Provides patient/staff education
- Oversees LPN's and CMA/RMA

Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed:
- Peripheral IV therapy
- IV Therapeutic phlebotomy
- Lab draws as ordered
- Access of implanted ports
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Other Duties:
- Ordering medications and supplies
- Patient education
- Monitoring Infusion therapy
- Ongoing assessment for potential reactions/side effects
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
ADA Physical Demands:
