Purpose :
Assist mammography technologists and patients
Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
- Create History Sheets for Patients
- Ensure orders are placed and correct
- Contact providers if orders need to be placed or changed
- Obtain prior imaging if needed
- Upload prior imaging that is received and send reports to medical records to be uploaded
- Fix duplicate accounts in Synapse Content Manager
- Effectively assess patients via history taking and or interview as needed
- Room Patients and have them change accordingly
- Check in, check out and update patient information as needed
- Push" orders from EHR to PACS when patients check in
- Cancel orders that are not needed and were pushed to PACS
- Answer all phone calls
- Schedule and Reschedule patients as needed for mammo and bone density
- Call and schedule symptomatic patients at Delaney Radiology, add a note for these patients in EHR and clear the encounter
- Complete an orientation program for assistants based on a carefully established procedures manual
- Upkeep cleanliness of department and mammo rooms
- Call Tech Repeat patients as needed and fill out necessary paperwork to send to lead tech
- Fill out Mammo Log with Report information when mammo imaging has been read
- Create a letter for each patient after their mammogram has been read and send to the patient
- Fill out each patient's mammo log in EHR with report information
- Follow up with patients that are Needs Additional Imaging and make sure they are scheduled and sent an updated letter after this imaging is complete
- Send a certified letter for any patient with BIR 4 or BIR 5 results and send a communication to provider confirming that a letter is being sent
- Follow up on Requests for prior imaging to make sure we receive them in a timely manner
- Order supplies as needed in PROCUREIT
- Contact Mammo Lead Tech as needed
