What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Assistant - Strides Program position at Wilmington Public Schools?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Strides Educational Assistant supports the Strides program teacher, occasionally the Stepping Stones teacher, and the students to meet their IEP goals. The assistant will provide support in all education settings as outlined in the student’s individual education plan, and as directed by the program teacher.
• Help implement behavior plans and modifications as necessary if necessary.
• Work with all teachers and assist in the classroom as the teacher deems appropriate. This may include but is not limited to small group instruction, giving frequent breaks, making modifications for students and working with diverse learning styles.
• Work with special needs population in a substantially separate classroom.
• Implement current IEP plans, data collection and discrete trials.
• Work cooperatively with grade level colleagues along with the classroom teacher.
• Participate in all requested professional development including Safety Care training and CBT training.
• Other related duties as assigned by the teacher and/or principal.
