Wilmington Public Schools is seeking the following positions for the Special Education Extended School year program for summer 2025: Special Education Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, Educational Assistants, Reading Specialists, Counselors/School Psychologists, Nurses and Tutors
1.Seeking teachers for the following Special education programs:
•STRIDES (ABA Programs)
•Social Emotional Programs (elementary)
•Language Based
•Like Skills
(tentatively scheduled June 23-July 31, Monday-Thursday, 4.5 hours a day-pending final snow days)
2. Seeking teachers for the Tutoring/Academic Instruction programs held June 23- July 17 (Tuesday and Thursday only) 4.5 hours a day--Elementary, Middle and High School level needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Provide instruction to special education students incorporating curricula and objectives that extend the regular school day curriculum and meet the Individualized Education Program needs of students.
•Plan lessons/activities/accommodations/modifications as required and/or necessary.
•Report on student progress to Interim Director of Student Support, staff and families when appropriate
•Assist in the completion of DESE and Special Education assessment reports as needed
•Perform other tasks related to the goals and objectives as outlined on student's IEPs
•Complete summer progress reports in ESPED as required by DESE by end of program/services (either 7/17/25 or 7/31/25)
•Other duties as assigned by the Interim Director of Student Support Services or designee
•All programs and services will be in person at Wilmington High School
