POSITION: Associate Director (FT)
Effective immediately: (FT) Associate Director – Financial Aid, Wilmington University, New Castle.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. The incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and parents. Must be self-motivated and able to make independent decisions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of NSLDS, COD, FAA CPS Access, and/or other Microsoft-based Student Information Systems is necessary. Experience with student information systems, particularly Banner, is preferred. Must be committed to a team-building approach as well as maintaining an effective working relationship with all employees. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations is essential.
- Collaborate closely with Assistant Directors, offering strategic leadership, oversight, and support to identify and prioritize improvements to federal student financial aid processes, services, and reporting as needed.
- Manage all Advising verification tasks, including identifying and resolving issues, and managing advisor workload and processing time.
- Assist in managing, implementing, and maintaining core federal student financial aid processes within Banner.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal student financial aid policies, regulations, and trends. Interpret federal and institutional policy to guide daily work as well as resolve complex issues, including program and student eligibility.
- Create system queries and collaborate with Institutional Research to develop reports that support day-to-day operations, as well as federal, state, and institutional aid processing.
- Partner with the Director, the Information Technology Department, and the Financial Aid office staff to coordinate and perform system updates, testing, and new year setup for Banner.
- Provide oversight and support for the federal student financial aid system to staff in areas such as verification, packaging, tracking, communication, SAP, R2T4, reconciliation, and more.
- Assist Director with audits, reporting, and other compliance areas as needed.
- Assume responsibility for the Financial Aid Department in the Director's Absence.
- Collaborate with other areas and departments (including but not limited to: Student Billing, Registrar, Academic Advising, and Admissions) to facilitate the delivery of effective customer service and assist with various enrollment management services and campus activities for students.
- Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director.
Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. However, incumbent may be asked to be flexible with their hours and work shifts such as 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or other shifts necessary to meet the needs of the department. Traveling to other sites may be necessary.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
