POSITION : Recruiting Specialist (PT)

Effective immediately : (PT) Recruiting Specialist, College of Education & Liberal Arts, Wilmington University

Requirements : A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. The incumbent will possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities, along with sound judgment and decision-making skills. The incumbent should excel in problem-solving, service orientation, active listening, and effective verbal and written communication. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively are essential. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with the ability to work independently on various projects. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. The candidate must maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

  • Responsible for the articulation of the Wilmington University mission to a variety of stakeholders while acting as the liaison between the University and the areas it serves.
  • Visit various agencies, organizations, and schools serving diverse populations for recruiting purposes. This includes public, private, and charter at all levels, and all locations, as well as community action programs, ministerial groups, ethnic organizations, and civic organizations.
  • Attend community, state, and organizational functions as a representative, advocate, and vendor, and provide information and literature at available display opportunities, such as the Hispanic American Heritage events, Latino Festivals, and other related college-informational affairs.
  • Initiate contact with such organizations as : Aspira, Teen Sharp, Black Men in Suits, Black Male Educators Convening, Educators Rising, DE Immersion Program, the Latin American Community Center, DelawareCan, etc., to recruit African American and Hispanic / Latino youth and adults to WU and to the COE.
  • Establish a relationship with the DEDOE Education, Recruitment / Selection, and Talent Strategy Associate, with the purpose of working cooperatively in the recruitment of minority students.
  • Attend both virtually and in-person at national, regional, and state events as a vendor or member where prospective students are in attendance.
  • Build relationships with WU stakeholders to enhance student connectivity and service working as a liaison between prospective students and service areas within the university.
  • Collect and maintain data relevant to state and national standards for recruitment and enrollment.
  • Maintain a productive working relationship with admissions, recruiting, and other University offices that impact initial enrollment.
  • Meet with groups, parents, and potential students on an individual and / or group basis, where appropriate.
  • Meet with school counselors and school administrators to promote COE programmatic and outreach activities.
  • Maintain effective communication through various methods with prospective students and current applicants.
  • Participate in COELA committees, as assigned.
  • Provide WU-branded resources and materials to potential students.
  • Respond to inquiries from students and stakeholders.
  • Attend regularly scheduled COE Meetings.
  • Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors of the Division of Education.

Hours of Employment : Generally, Monday - Friday 8 : 30 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. Hours may vary depending on needs. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary. This position may require occasional travel to other WilmU sites. Incumbents must be flexible to meet the needs of the College and University.

Salary Range : Commensurate with experience
