Job Summary
The Value Stream Manager for the Test Lab is a skilled and detail-oriented leader who oversees the calibration, maintenance, and repair of equipment and instruments used in our testing lab. This individual will ensure that our testing processes and equipment meet stringent industry and company standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The leader will guide a team of four technicians, manage day-to-day operations, and provide hands-on expertise to troubleshoot and solve complex issues.
Primary Job Duties:
- Calibration and Maintenance: Supervise and perform calibration, maintenance, and repair test equipment and instruments to measure manufacturing products and environments, ensuring accuracy and conformance to standards.
- Inspection and Testing: Oversee and conduct routine inspections and tests to ensure equipment meets established calibration standards and specifications.
- Staff Training: Train and mentor team members on new equipment, calibration techniques, and best practices to enhance team capabilities and maintain high-quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: Research and resolve complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Compliance and Standards: Comply with relevant industry standards, such as ISO, and other applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate calibration, maintenance, and inspection records. Generate reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Leadership: Provide clear direction and support to the team, making day-to-day operational decisions and contributing to long-term strategy development.
- Safety: Promote a safe and organized work environment, following all safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- An associate degree and/or technical or trade school graduation are required, preferably in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in calibration, testing, or related areas, with a proven track record of technical expertise and supervisory responsibility.
- In-depth understanding of quality concepts and industry standards, including ISO 9001:2015.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using calibration software and related tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of functional areas and department processes, including experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
