Summary of Director of Housekeeping:
Supervise the Housekeeping and Laundry staff to ensure they are completing there daily assigned job duties
Essential Functions of Director of Housekeeping:
• Performs cleaning and sanitizing tasks per department scheduled policies and services throughout the facility
• Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies. Stocks cart at end of shift.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, resident rooms, employee breakroom, offices, hallways and entrances per department standards
• Removes linens, towels, bedspreads and blankets to launder
• Picks up and empties trash containers in resident rooms, common spaces, and office areas
• Performs isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures
• Assist with laundry tasks as needed to meet resident and facility needs
• Clean floors (sweeping, vacuuming, wet/dry mopping)
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, film, etc. from surfaces, using proper cleaning/ disinfecting solutions
• Keep walls, windows, ceilings, mirrors, etc. clean by washing, wiping, disinfecting, deodorizing, and following the deep cleaning procedures
• Monitor and report necessary repairs/ Order Supplies
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings

Work Environment
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This worker is exposed to adverse environmental factors and involves high risk exposure to blood, tissue and body fluids and chemicals.
Physical Demands for Director of Housekeeping:
To adequately perform the essential functions of the job you must have the physical capabilities to stand, sit, walk for extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted with frequent and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, pull and do repetitive motions on a daily basis.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours vary and will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Education and Experience for Environmental Service Director:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Professional cleaning experience preferred.
