What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van/ Transportation Driver position at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center?
POSITION: Transportation Driver
REPORTS TO: Administrator
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Transportation Driver is responsible for transportation of residents and staff as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Communicates and coordinates transportation of residents with the Facility Services Administrative Assistant.
2. Transports residents to destination in a safe and timely manner. The return transport will be arranged to prevent any confusion as to time and destination of return.
3. Coordinates with other staff to provide transportation for Activity Events to and from agreed destinations.
4. Performs Non-Resident trips to the bank, post office, Church Headquarters, and other destinations as required.
5. Coordinates the use of Hillside Manor vehicles.
6. Performs preventive maintenance and vehicle checks on Wilshire vehicles.
7. Greet people as they come into the office and direct them as appropriate.
8. Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
9. Maintain regular, reliable, and consistent attendance at the worksite as directed by supervisor.
10. Adheres to the provisions of Wilshires Manor Ethical Standards, Guidelines/Compliance Plan, and exemplifies high ethical standards in all activities and interactions.
11. Complies with all provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
12. Ensures that the Transportation Department maintains compliance with all federal and state regulatory and licensure requirements.
13. May be called upon to do light maintenance or EVS duties as schedule allows.
Other Duties:
1. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative and judgment is also required.
2. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal directions.
3. Must have CDL.
4. Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record within the guidelines set by Wilshires insurance carrier.
