Director of Deposit Operations

Job Summary:
The Director of Deposit Operations is a change leader who provides strategic oversite to the Deposit Operations team while working closely with the Bank’s Deposit Strategy leader, and teams such as Retail Operations, Compliance, and Process Efficiency to align operational goals with the Bank’s strategic objectives. The position requires evaluating deposit systems for optimization, fostering collaboration across departments, and developing the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) of team members through partnership with the Learning & Development (L&D) team and Deposit Operations Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversite and leadership to the Deposit Operations Manager and their team
- Responsible for providing ongoing feedback, mentoring and collaborating with management regarding the professional development of team members
- Evaluate and optimize business systems and platforms to improve operational efficiency, identifying opportunities for refinement and innovation, and enhancing employee and customer experience
- Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify challenges, and refine processes for continuous improvement
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to create targeted training programs for the ongoing development of team members
- Prioritize cross-functional collaboration with various business units to ensure seamless operations and alignment with strategic goals
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional associations
- Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, related field or relevant experience
- 5 years of banking experience
- Deposit operations experience preferred
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and fostering professional development
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, Reg CC, etc.)
- Experience in cross-departmental collaboration and project management
- Experience in business systems evaluation and process optimization
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software platforms
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
