Wilson College is seeking a skilled and dedicated Remote Online Rocket League Coach to join our collegiate esports program. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Rocket Leagues mechanics, strategy, and competitive scene, as well as experience coaching players at a high level. This role involves developing players in-game skills, teamwork, game sense, and mental resilience while supporting their academic and athletic balance.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development:
- Conduct structured training sessions focusing on mechanical skills, strategy, and team coordination.
- Analyze gameplay footage to provide feedback on positioning, rotations, building/editing mechanics, and decision-making.
- Develop personalized training plans to enhance individual and team performance.
- Stay updated with the evolving Rocket League meta and adapt coaching strategies accordingly.
Team Management & Strategy:
- Assist in formulating and executing game plans, scrim schedules, and tournament strategies.
- Foster a positive and growth-oriented team environment, emphasizing communication and collaboration.
Competitive & Program Support:
- Organize and oversee team participation in collegiate leagues and tournaments.
- Work closely with the Esports Director to track players' progress and maintain team cohesion.
- Provide mentorship on maintaining a healthy balance between esports, academics, and personal well-being.
Recruitment & Community Engagement:
- Assist in recruiting and developing new players to strengthen the program.
- Engage with the esports community, stream training sessions, and promote the program when appropriate.
- Represent the college and uphold program values in public-facing esports events.
Qualifications:
- Competitive Rocket League Experience: High-level experience in Rocket League (collegiate, amateur, or professional).
- Coaching Experience: Prior coaching or leadership experience in Rocket League or other competitive esports.
- Game Knowledge: Deep understanding of Rocket Leagues mechanics, strategy, and meta.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and motivate players.
- Tech Requirements: Reliable high-speed internet and the ability to stream/analyze gameplay remotely.
- Availability: Flexible schedule to accommodate training, scrims, and tournaments around students busy schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coaching at the professional, amateur, or collegiate level.
- Strong network within the Rocket League esports community.
- Supersonic Legend ranking or proof of coaching supersonic legend level players.
- T2 or higher experience or proof of coaching T2 or higher teams.
Compensation & Application:
- This is a remote, part-time 30-week position with a stipend compensation of $100 per week with an estimated workload of 5 hours per week.
