**Internal Posting** -Position involves taking applications, processing applications, completing reviews and determining/re-determining eligibility for the Food & Nutrition Program to ensure all eligible citizens receive appropriate and timely benefits. Requires analytical thinking and the ability to interpret and apply program policy. Individual in these positions requires the ability to adapt to organizational change. Must maintain excellent customer service, accurate documentation and organized electronic records. Manage their individual job performance to effectively meet job expectations. Requires the ability to work in a teamwork setting and maintain effective working relationships within the agency.
The mental ability to assimilate, evaluate, and apply program knowledge. Include researching community resources, explaining and recommending services; referring customers to appropriate external agencies and community resources. Cases are managed in the State NC FAST computer system (North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology) as well as other software programs.One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
**Will consider the following qualifications as a work-against**
Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiation, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferences: The Career Readiness Certificate (CRC), which certifies that a person has workplace skills that are transferrable between industry sectors and across jobs within a sector.
