This position involves services to provide a permanent home for children in the legal custody of this agency. This includes efforts with the child and his biological family to return the child to his home, or to place him in the home of relatives, to legally clear him for the purpose of agency adoptive placement, or independent living. - Able to become knowledgeable about all aspects of the foster care and adoption program
- Able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job within the judicial system
- Must have verbal and written communication skills in order to relate in a positive manner to clients, attorneys, and community partners and provide accurate court testimony when required.
- Must have ability to thoroughly and objectively gather information; must have capacity to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Must be able to work effectively in a teamwork setting and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with team members, within the Child Welfare Section, with community professionals, and agency leaders.
- Must be able to learn and implement the agency’s integrated practice model of Signs of Safety and Trauma Informed practice.
- Must be able to learn the Division’s electronic management system for Child Welfare, NC FAST.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Must possess and be able to demonstrate intermediate level of personal computer skills.
PREFERENCES: Prefer applicants with social work experience in a Department of Social Services and Human Services Degree; or social work experience in a human services setting and a Human Service Degree; BSW or MSW Degrees; or a Human Services Related Masters Level Degree.
