Instructional Coach (Elementary Grades K-5)
JOB GOAL
The Instructional Coach will work with and support elementary school teachers by providing embedded and real time professional development focused on student centered learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Holds a valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement; minimum five (5) years of teaching experience; has strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and meets health and physical requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Model researched based lessons in classrooms on a daily/weekly basis.
- Provide teachers support by deepening the understanding of multiple instructional strategies and practices.
- Schedule weekly/daily opportunities to plan and co-teach lessons with teachers.
- Informally observe teachers (non-evaluative) and provide feedback for a teacher’s reflection and professional growth, grounded in student evidence.
- Conduct coaching conversations with teachers.
- Ensure the district Instructional Guides are being followed.
- Work in conjunction with the building level principal and other coaches.
- Increase the teacher’s implementation of Differentiated Instruction to fully challenge all levels of students.
- Assist teachers in the creation of quality lessons based on student evidence of learning.
- Collaborate and plan with district coordinators and coaches.
- Train teachers on the use of materials that support instruction.
- Submit a weekly coaching log to the school principal and elementary supervisor.
- Complete and submit all required reports/documents to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Analyze data in order to know the areas to support classroom instruction.
- Provide professional development opportunities to teachers.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as requested by the district.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This job may require lifting or carrying of objects that exceed fifty (50) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling, stooping and/or kneeling, reaching and/or handling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
