The Position
Wilson Elser's Chicago office is currently seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team of litigators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end, including complex and high exposure cases, from inception to resolution.
- Collaborate closely with other attorneys and Partners on complex legal matters.
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
- Communicate proactively with clients, keeping them informed with regular status updates.
- Contribute to legal strategy and case development with a focus on client goals and outcomes.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the State of Illinois
- 2 years' experience in defense litigation. Professional liability, insurance coverage is a plus
- Deposition and trial preparation experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in conducting paper discovery, depositions, motion practice and report writing
- Processes including electronic filing are preferred
