The Position
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated trial attorney with at least 8 years of experience to join our high-performing litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to defend complex cases in premises liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims and in general liability and labor law matters, with significant opportunities for trial work. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cases from initial intake through trial. This position offers a collaborative and dynamic environment that encourages professional growth and the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of legal matters, including in-court trial experience.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto / transportation liability, construction (NYS Labor Law), and other litigation matters.
- Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial.
- Regularly conduct / defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice. Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
- Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects and strategy for cases.
- Communicate with clients to provide status reports, advice, and counsel regarding case developments.
- Participate in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence for litigation.
- Provide high-level client service by actively managing expectations, keeping clients informed, and delivering excellent outcomes.
Qualifications
A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and / or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Pay Range
175,000—$200,000 USD
