What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer/Advisor position at Wilson Equipment?
Wilson Equipment, an authorized Bobcat® and DEVELON dealer, is looking for a Service Writer to act as the liaison between our company's service department and our customers. You will use your expert knowledge to understand client needs and/or problems and work with staff to accommodate. You should be able to educate customers about our company and our products as well as answer questions from customers and other service providers.
You should possess excellent customer service and communication skills. You should also have the ability to translate customers' non-technical descriptions and relate them in a comprehensive and thorough report to the service team.
Requirements
- Construction Equipment 3 years experience highly suggested
- Automotive/Mechanical 3 years experience
- Parts/Service related experience
- Application with High School Diploma or equivalence
- Strong Computer Skills with 50 WPM able to work with DMS programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
- Pre-employment Drug Test (Company Paid)
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines efficiently and cost-effectively
Important Duties
- Reports to Branch Manager, responsible for the effective performance of miscellaneous clerical functions within the service department.
- Overall customer service via telephone and in person.
- Coordinate work orders with mechanics, create purchase orders for parts.
- Maintain service schedules, price and quoting, and required company reports.
- Assisting rental and sales department with customer orders -- i.e. scheduling and invoicing
- Prioritizing repairs in an order to keep the work flowing in the shop.
- Prepares correspondence as directed.
- Types or key enters all types of correspondence.
- Compiles and types report entry as required or directed.
- Compiles information needed to create quotes for customers.
- Assists in opening work orders and closing when completed or directed.
- Entering technicians time from timecard to proper work order.
- Working with other departments to ensure the flow of the service department.
- Calling customers to discuss invoices and payments.
- Sorting parts from the parts department from the shelf to the technicians on the floor.
The individual in this position should be personable, problem solver, reliable, ethical and adaptable to the constant changes that occur when prioritizing. Must handle themselves in a professional manner with customers, suppliers, other departments, co- workers and dealership entities.
