Summary
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Long Term Care Pharmacy at Wilson Senior Care. In this vital role, you will support our healthcare professionals by ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the high standards of care that we uphold.
Responsibilities
- Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assists in processing return drugs and recycles/disposes per policy.
- Assists with pharmacy workflow as needed.
- Assists in monthly fills to scheduled nursing homes.
- Inputs physician order in needed into the computer.
- Files general prescriptions for prescription orders and prescriptions.
- Checks for out of date medications on a weekly basis.
- Orders drugs and pharmaceutical supplies as well as puts away such orders daily.
- Answers telephone calls.
- Follows all applicable government regulations including HIPPA.
- Serves as an alternate control technician.
- Serves as an alternate packing technician.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
