Punching NC Designer (Punching Tooling)

SUMMARY - Responsible for engineering and programming of special shapes (2D and 3D) and routing of daily orders.  Exercises considerable judgment and direction in NC design work.  Has minimal supervision and design support.  Utilizes SolidWorks CAD software to perform applicable design and programming work. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Design/CAD/NC programming work to show tolerance dimensions, follow accepted drafting standards and calculations, provide all shop drawings and paperwork
2.    Converts customer requirements into workable tooling, and conceives most efficient method of manufacturing
3.    May utilize computer aided drafting techniques to perform other design duties as required
4.    NC Design work requires use of independent problem-solving skills and technical experience
5.    Completes and distributes all appropriate instructions, drawings, and other design paperwork   
6.    Provide technical guidance, and be responsible for verifying accuracy of NC programming, layouts and design work of others  
7.    Other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 year technical (CAD) training or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and ability to utilize general drafting standards in making NC designs with CAD system
Knowledge of various machining and manufacturing processes
SolidWorks experience highly preferred

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Technical math; up through trigonometric functions

Computer, SolidWorks, copy machines, and other office machinery

WORK ENVIRONMENT  
Inside; Design office and manufacturing environment

WORK SCHEDULE
1st Shift, specific schedule TBD.

COMPENSATION - Design NC pay scale, plus shift premium if appropriate.  Overtime requires management approval.

COMPENSATION
$26 - $34/ hr. depending on experience and qualifications
