What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Support Coordinator - Stamping (1st Shift) position at Wilson Tool International?
SUMMARY
The Shop Support Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring seamless movement of products throughout the Stamping area. The role will fill the gaps between the office, Work Centers and Shipping by managing the status of product from office to Work Centers to Shipping and being an expert at communicating with the right personnel at the right time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cross-Departmental Communication
• Act as the key liaison between production teams, work centers, shipping, and leadership to keep all parties informed about product status and ensure smooth operations. Maintain and update daily work cell lead times. Engage directly on the shop floor to check orders, address any issues, and support shop personnel.
• Coordinate Product Movement
• Oversee the movement of products through various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure timely completion and shipping. Track the status of orders and provide estimates of delivery dates.
• Vendor Communication
• Maintain regular follow-up with vendors to track and confirm the status of shipments and resolve any delays or issues. Create and manage purchase orders for external vendors and coordinate logistics on occasions. Monitor and follow up on vendor on-time delivery performance.
• SAP ERP Management
• Utilize SAP ERP software to track product progress, manage shipments, and update relevant personnel on the status of orders and inventory. Release repeat customer orders with precision and timeliness. Perform data entry to maintain accurate records in SAP and Excel.
• Administrative Support
• Provide administrative assistance to various work centers and shipping departments, ensuring that all documentation related to product movement, orders, and shipping is accurate and up-to-date. Maintain organized filing systems for purchase orders and relevant documentation. Assist management with administrative tasks (excluding phone responsibilities).
• Problem-Solving
• Quickly identify and address any issues related to product movement, including delays in shipment, missing documentation, or vendor-related concerns.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment is a plus.
• Read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced level).
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to both office and shop floor settings.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Proven administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities; manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP systems is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitate collaboration between various departments and vendors.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Previous experience in logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain coordination is a plus.
• Familiarity with shipping procedures and working with external vendors.
