What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer Intern position at Wilson Trailer Company?
Wilson Trailer Company, an industry leading manufacturer of Grain, Livestock, Gooseneck and Flatbed Trailers, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the 2025 summer months at our manufacturing plant located in Moberly, Missouri.
Examples of responsibilities are as follows. Duties may vary depending on location:
- Review and compose operating procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Design and model fixturing and material holding equipment.
- Assist plant engineers and techs with equipment repair.
- Produce prototypes and production parts from 3D printer
- Review actual build times vs. routed times and update routes in Axapta Software accordingly.
- Map and Measure build times on the floor to compare with Axapta Software data for determining actual times and update routes accordingly.
- Assist Lean Champion with mapping and measuring when required.
- Perform audits of Bills of Materials against As-built parts in production to identify Bill of materials errors.
Desired Skills and Specifications:
- Able to comprehend Engineering systems, for retrieval, filing and revising of drawings and bills of material.
- Must be proficient with computers and basic office software. CAD experience beneficial.
- Must demonstrate the desire to learn and acquire product line knowledge.
- Must demonstrate the desire to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
Education and Qualifications:
- Industrial or Mechanical Engineering disciplines preferred.
- Able to work in heavy manufacturing environment. Possibility of minimal overnight travel.
- Must wear steel toed boots, hard hat, & ear plugs while on work floor.
Hours:
Moberly: Monday thru Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm (40-hour workweek)
Pay: These intern positions are temporary positions intended for the summer months of calendar year 2025. Interns are paid an hourly wage rate and receive paychecks weekly on Fridays. Time worked in excess of 40-hours in a workweek is paid at time and one-half.
