Machine Operator (Machinist)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to manufacture high-quality products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setup Jobs
- Review job packets for setups and job-specific information
- Set up jobs on the machine, including clamps, shims, wedges, and various other tooling to physically secure the job
- Operate Machine Tools
- Identify, locate, and load items using equipment as needed (cranes, fork trucks, etc.)
- Load programs and verify accuracy through either a test run (if possible) or verifying accuracy as the job is being worked on
- Maintenance and Quality Control
- Continually monitor job and ensure accuracy and speeds
- Cleanup finished product by de-burring, wiping down, etc.
- Unload finished product from machine and ensure that it is moving on to its next work center
- Safety and Maintenance
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Make management aware of any issues with the machine or consumables
Requirements:
- General Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints/drawings
- Use various measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measure, etc.)
- Proficient in math (algebra, geometry, etc.)
- Attention to detail
- Safety
- Qualifications:
- Mechanical ability
- Ideally 1 year of experience or trade school (but not required)
