What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Provider position at Wilton Daycare Center?
Overview
The Childcare Provider will work as a team with other staff and the director to implement the childcare program. The team will assist in carrying out the childcare mission and values by providing high quality childcare services to children and families.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interact with children in a manner that clearly conveys love and acceptance.
- Respond to children by holding, smiling, and speaking in a positive tone of voice.
- Participate in supervising structured and free play indoors and outdoors.
- Assist and supervise children during toileting period.
- Be prompt and dependable in attendance.
- Help with clean-up of snacks, meals, and activities.
- Display respect for others, including children, staff and families.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
- Follow the health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with planning and implementation of daily plans and activities.
- Maintain program site and equipment.
- Communicate with families on an ongoing basis and assist with family conferences.
- Complete daily observations and child evaluations.
- Provide positive guidance for child behaviors.
- Sanitize equipment daily, take out garbage, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, clean restrooms, and all other cleaning assigned.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, physical exam and fingerprinting.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and patience.
- Willingness to complete tasks under the direction of the management team.
- Previous experience in a child care setting is preferred.
- Ability to meet Iowa DHS standards and regulations for a child care employee.
Physical Qualifications
- Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching and routinely lifting 30 pounds at a time.
- Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/ dangerous situations.
- May provide children with assistance in handling situations such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering and feeding.
- May be exposed to loud noises, physical actions or bodily fluids as a part of the child care environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
