Wilton Conservatory of Music offers private music lessons after school at Cider Mill School in Wilton, CT. We are seeking a brass instructor and a cello instructor.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing a degree) in Music and/or high musical competence and proficiency of a musical instrument.
- Performance experience is a plus.
- Ability to teach additional instruments a plus.
- Comfortable teaching various styles and genres.
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching private music lessons to all ages -elementary students to adults.
- Ability to teach music fundamentals (note reading, site reading, scales, technique, theory, etc.)
- Prepare students for examinations, auditions, live performances as needed.
- Prepare students for informal recitals.
- Effectively communicate with parents.
- Responsible, conscientious, and punctual.
- Technologically savvy and can teach virtually if the need arises.
- Passionate, fun & energetic.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

- Administrative Support - scheduling, registration, payment, marketing, organization of recitals and other administrative support.
- All lessons are in one place - little to no downtime between lessons.
Required training (upon hiring) as required by Wilton Public Schools
Reports to: Coordinator, Wilton Conservatory of Music
Terms of Employment: Hourly, part time position, weekday to be agreed up from 2:30-7:00 (approx), hours depending on demand. Certification is not required. This is NOT a classroom teaching position within the Wilton Public Schools, even though if hired, it is working within Wilton Public Schools and requires the same application process.
