TITLE : ATHLETIC TRAINER
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor of Science, Master's Degree preferred
- A background in training and experience as an athletic trainer, emergency medical technician / student of sports medicine
- Certified in basic first aid and in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- NATA Certified
REPORTS TO : Director of Athletics
JOB GOAL : Provide athletic training for Wilton High School athletic programs. The athletic trainer will perform the role within the parameters of the Connecticut Athletic Trainers Licensing Law as outlined by the Department of Public Health and will follow both the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association. These duties are based on the needs of the school and its athletic programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
WORK YEAR : Ten-month position 206 day maximum, beginning the first day of fall practices, approximately mid-August, through approximately early June. The athletic trainer will work in accordance with a weekly schedule to be determined by the Athletic Director. Weekly schedules will vary according to the athletic season.
EVALUATION : Performance review of this job will be evaluated a annually by the Director of Athletics
SALARY : $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience
