Landscape Horticulturalist/Lead Gardener

Wimberg Landscaping is seeking an individual to join our team as a Horticulturalist/Lead Gardener in our Landscape Maintenance Division. Pay will be based on the relevant, landscaping-related experience of the selected candidates.

The hours for our landscape positions are generally 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.
Please note, this department does not handle lawn mowing.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and planting tasks
- Landscape bed preparation
- Mulching, weeding, pruning
- Monitor plant health and diagnose/treat any plant diseases or pest infestations
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment
- Collaborate with clients to understand their preferences for their garden or landscape
- Supervise and train junior gardeners and seasonal staff
- Planting of various plant material and plant removal
- Deadheading
- Raking up debris
- Fertilizing and applying other chemical applications
- Watering
- Assist with snow removal in the winter
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record required
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of prior gardening experience
- Knowledge of local plants
- Willing to be exposed to weather, including heat/rain/cold/snow, and various horticultural products
- Ability to use horticultural equipment and tools
- Ability to work 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime
Physical Requirements:

- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
- Be able to reach overhead.
- Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
- Be able to lift 50-75 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday and work on hands/knees for extended periods during workday.
- Comfortable with repetitive motions such as digging, pulling, and raking.
- Strong stamina to handle the rigors of daily landscaping and gardening tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
