What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Reliability Manager position at WIN Waste Innovations?
WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Boiler Reliability Manager. The Boiler Reliability Manager is responsible for supporting WIN Waste Innovations' boiler reliability program to maximize boiler availability across the fleet of operating Waste to Energy facilities.
Primary Duties:
- Serve as a technical resource within the organization to diagnose, troubleshoot, and document boiler lifecycle maintenance and condition assessment and/or improvement opportunities.
- In coordination with Plant Management teams, provide technical support and inspections during scheduled outages to achieve the highest reliability possible within the approved schedule and budget.
- Support fleetwide unscheduled downtime events to facilitate making the appropriate repairs and minimize outage duration and financial impact; communicate lessons learned to other facilities in the fleet and to senior management.
- Issue fleet reliability reports, outage reports and other technical guidance based on individual plant issues to prevent or mitigate similar issues at other facilities.
- Oversee initiatives to identify and develop improvements to predictive, preventive, and spare inventory maintenance programs for increased boiler reliability and availability.
- Utilize industry resources to identify new and innovative techniques and best practices.
- Serve as champion for new techniques as appropriate.
- Coordinate the collection of fleet maintenance data for support of development of technical programs.
- Collect and maintain boiler outage reports, tube maps and other technical information.
- Carry out additional duties as directed.
- Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
Specific Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Must have hands-on experience in Boiler inspection and repair including practical use of various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods including ultrasonic thickness (UT), dye penetrant (DP), and visual inspection (VI) techniques.
- Must have a demonstrated capability to evaluate technical performance, identify potential improvements, and determine/apply "Best Practices" in technical areas.
- Strong abilities to communicate both orally and in writing, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, and performance monitoring software are required.
- This role requires the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization; from power plant operations and maintenance personnel all the way up to senior management and the CEO.
- This role requires extensive time in the field, as required during outage planning and execution. Travel requirements will be as follows:
- 50-75% travel to waste to energy facilities in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania with occasional support and travel needed to our southern waste to energy facilities in New Jersey, Maryland, and Florida.
- This role will be based out of the Millbury, MA facility and travel to other facilities will be on an expense reimbursable basis.
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power boiler maintenance and/or boiler outage management
- In depth knowledge of National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors R Stamp authorization
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent Bachelor's or Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent
- Preferred: Experience with project scheduling and budgeting is required
