As a Senior Software Developer at WIN Waste, you'll join a team of developers designing and building the future state data ecosystem. This role will be responsible for supporting our existing systems and converting processes to Azure, ensuring our data pipelines are performant and meet our service level standards. The nature of work will include design, development, enhancements of existing systems, troubleshooting for root cause analysis and development work to transition our legacy data stores. You will be joining a team of software engineers that collaborate to define the technical direction of projects, uphold industry standard coding practices, and support the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives by delivering high quality code in an agile environment.
What You'll Do...
- Develop creative, technical solutions to solve business problems
- Active participate in the design, build, and implementation of technical solutions to increase efficiency and performance of application integrations currently integrated via Azure Data Factory pipelines
- Develop and maintain data ingestion and integration (SSIS/ADF) processes with a focus on data quality and monitoring
- Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and frameworks
- Adhere to coding standards and best practices
- Incorporate standards and best practices into engineering solutions
- Manage code versions in source control (Azure DevOps/ Github)
- Participate in code reviews with the development team
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams
- Participate in design discussions and technical reviews
- Participate in technical projects to completion from inception to production implementation including prod support transition
- Maintain existing systems using: Azure Data Factory Pipelines, VB.Net (some C#), SSIS, MS SQL Server, Integrated Excel Reports, various CSV/XML integrations
Who You Are...
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other technical area
- 5 years of experience as a software engineer
- Strong programming skills: Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks used by the team; Microsoft/Azure Stack - SSIS, SQL, Azure Data Factory, ADO, Github, SFTP, Python, Power Apps, Function Apps, APIs, RPA Tools
- Software design principles: Understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices
- Communication skills: Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges
- Strong computer science fundamentals: SDLC methodologies, CICD, programming languages, data structures
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze existing processes and develop actionable recommendations
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated, flexible, and organized.
- Effectively work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness to make timely decisions.
