Title: Regional Retail Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Winans Regional Retail Manager is responsible for operating nine company-operated Winans locations. This person owns the performance of these locations and manages the store managers. This leader is the key driver of store success—ensuring high standards in customer service, team leadership, store operations, and brand execution.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Regional Retail Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
DIRECT REPORTS
Nine store managers of the following Winans locations: Piqua downtown, Piqua Looney Road, Sidney, Troy Downtown, Troy Experiment Farm Road, Springfield Limestone, Springfield Downtown, Dayton Far Hills, and Lima.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, salaried leadership position that requires a high level of flexibility and availability to support nine operating locations. While exact hours may vary based on business needs, the Regional Retail Manager is expected to:
- Be present in stores regularly, visiting each location at least once per week
- Spend approximately 20% of their time working from the home office
- Be accessible to store teams and leadership as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holiday
MISSION
Deliver operational excellence and execute the Winans brand at the highest level to set the pace for the entire system.
KPIs
- Labor as a percentage of sales under a set minimum ratio.
- Staffing levels kept above a set minimum percentage.
- Average scorecard reviews in the top half of the system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion excellent customer service and hospitality at all company-operated Winans locations
- Create and foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, and performance across all teams
- Travel to each store multiple times per week to observe, support, and elevate operationsEnsure full compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards at all locations
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and store presentation
- Oversee proper stocking, rotation, and inventory management
- Lead the training and development of Store Managers, and support barista training programs
- Hire, coach, develop, and evaluate Store Managers to build a high-performing leadership team
- Partner with Store Managers and People Operations to recruit and hire store-level team members as needed
- Ensure Store Managers are effectively training and coaching their teams to deliver consistent, joyful customer experiences
- Monitor labor usage and staffing schedules to balance efficiency with exceptional service
- Support cost control initiatives, including inventory accuracy, cash handling, and store-level expenses
- Serve as a key communication link between store teams and the corporate support structure
- Provide regular performance updates and feedback to the Director of Operations
- Collaborate with People Operations, Marketing, and other departments to execute company initiatives and maintain alignment across locations
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years experience of both of the following: 1) management of multiple-units, and 2) of a food and beverage hospitality concept.
- Working knowledge of finance concepts as applied in the hospitality industry.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Technological competency in Excel, the Google Suite, and POS systems.
- Must love chocolate and coffee.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to traverse all parts of the store quickly and efficiently
- Prolonged standing up to 8 hours with minimal breaks
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
