Full-Time Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our maintenance team. This person will be responsible for addressing day-to-day facilities maintenance issues and work on larger projects as assigned. Candidates should be:
- Experienced, with demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance and/or related trades, including Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Heating/Cooling, Fire Systems;
- Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing maintenance-related issues, such as those listed above, as they arise;
- Have a “can do” attitude with the ability to think critically and independently. If something is seen in need of repair, candidates should take initiative to get it done or notify their supervisor if it something substantial or outside the scope of their ability;
- Adaptable to a variety of work environments, with the ability to remain calm, positive, professional & respectful in all situations;
- A reliable team player that will politely interact with all employees, students, contractors, parents & various visitors to the district.
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance tasks & repairs in a variety of areas as assigned by Supervisors or Administration. Job specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overall maintenance of buildings, infrastructure & grounds
- Responsible for various carpentry projects, repairs & minor renovations, such as replacing doors, windows, trim, flooring, wall repairs, painting, finishings & exterior building maintenance
- Perform minor plumbing & electrical work not requiring a license & diagnose/troubleshoot more extensive issues
- Maintain & troubleshoot mechanical systems as needed
- Perform regular inspections & routine maintenance of all equipment & systems
- Respond to emergency situations & perform necessary repairs
- General landscaping & upkeep of grounds, including mowing, trimming, pruning & fall cleanup
- Occasionally complete varying landscape projects including irrigation repairs, planting grass, fertilizing & maintenance/repair of hardscaping
- Remove snow & ice by shoveling, plowing and/or sanding sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps for each campus as needed
- Ensure safe work practices
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with similar responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience in building & property maintenance
- Experience operating machinery
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong time management, organizational & multi-tasking skills
- Successful criminal background check & pre-employment

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 100 lbs, to safely work with chemicals according to directions, to work outside in all weather conditions, and must be comfortable working from a ladder, lift and bucket truck as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday - 7am - 3pm
- Varying on-call hours as needed, including occasional weekend rotation
- Additional hours as needed to fulfill responsibilities of the position
