Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia, is seeking an experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Electrophysiology (EP). Join our dynamic team consisting of 21 Cardiologists and 11 Advanced Practice Clinicians, committed to delivering high-quality cardiovascular care through a collaborative team approach.
The ideal candidate will join our Electrophysiology (EP) team of 3 Electrophysiologists and 3 APCs who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and management, catheter ablations, left atrial appendage procedures, and implantation of loop recorders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient evaluation of patients with cardiac rhythm problems in conjunction with the electrophysiologist.
- Outpatient follow-up and management of patients with various rhythm problems, including initiating and managing antiarrhythmic and anticoagulation therapies, and triage of patients with acute issues, including office evaluation.
- Provide pre- and post-procedural care and education for patients undergoing pacemaker or ICD implantation, ablation, LAAO implant, lead extraction, and cardioversion.
- Interpret EKGs and device interrogations; assess symptoms and recommend care plans accordingly.
- Ensure documentation meets CMS guidelines and participate in peer-to-peer authorizations and insurance processes.
Schedule
- Full-time day shift schedule with flexible hours available.
- Little to no weekend and night call responsibilities.

Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Eligible for or currently holds an active Nurse Practitioner Virginia License.
- Strong understanding of EP procedures and CMS documentation standards.
- Experience in Cardiology or Electrophysiology preferred.
- New graduates with strong cardiology rotation experience may be considered.

- WCVM operates within a state-of-the-art facility built in 2020, featuring a 30,000 sq. ft. clinic connected to the cardiovascular lab and hospital. We also provide outreach services to Valley Health Multi-Specialty clinics. WCVM provides its professional services to Valley Health through a professional service arrangement.
- Our team includes a diverse range of cardiovascular specialists, including electrophysiologists, advanced heart failure and structural heart specialists, and interventional and non-invasive cardiologists. EPIC is used as our EMR system across both clinic and hospital settings.
- WCVM is a private practice leased by Valley Health. Valley Health consists of 6 hospitals, with Winchester Medical Center being the largest at nearly 500 beds.
- WCVM utilizes a care team model pairing one NP with one to two physicians.
