Job Title: Sonographer (OB/GYN)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our OB/GYN office team. This position requires the technician to operate a Phillips Ultrasound machine and provide high-quality imaging for OB/GYN patients, including prenatal and gynecological examinations. The Ultrasound Technician will work under the supervision of OB/GYN physicians, ensuring adherence to AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) and ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) guidelines. The technician will be responsible for performing ultrasounds, communicating effectively with physicians and clinical staff, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ultrasound Procedure Administration:
• Perform OB/GYN ultrasounds in accordance with AIUM and ACOG standards, ensuring accuracy and high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.
• Conduct routine and specialized scans, including prenatal, gynecological, pelvic, and transvaginal ultrasounds, as requested by OB/GYN physicians.
• Effectively utilize the Phillips Ultrasound equipment to produce clear, precise images for evaluation by physicians.
• Ensure proper preparation of patients for ultrasound exams, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns.
• Patient Care & Communication:
• Provide a comfortable and professional environment for patients to undergo ultrasound exams.
• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and address any questions or concerns before, during, and after the procedure.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines during the process.
• Collaboration with Providers and Clinical Staff:
• Communicate effectively with OB/GYN physicians to provide relevant imaging results and assist in diagnosis.
• Relay any necessary information to physicians and clinical staff regarding patient conditions or exam results.
• Work closely with the medical team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of patient exams.
• Image Evaluation & Reporting:
• Review ultrasound images for quality assurance and ensure that the images meet diagnostic criteria.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records and exam results in the office’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Maintain appropriate logs and follow up on imaging findings as necessary.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform regular maintenance and calibration of the Phillips Ultrasound machine, ensuring the equipment is functioning optimally.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and report major issues to management for prompt resolution.
• Adherence to Guidelines and Certifications:
• Ensure all ultrasound procedures comply with AIUM and ACOG guidelines, following best practices in imaging, safety, and patient care.
• Maintain RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification with OB/GYN specialty.
• Obtain AIUM certification within a specified timeframe if not certified upon hire.
• Daily Workflow Management:
• Scan various patients daily, ensuring that each patient receives high-quality imaging and prompt results.
• Manage time efficiently to accommodate daily patient volume while maintaining a high standard of care.

Key Qualifications:

• Education & Certifications:
• Must hold a current RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification with an OB/GYN specialty.
• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
• Experience:
• Experience performing OB/GYN ultrasounds in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
• Experience operating Phillips Ultrasound equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with AIUM and ACOG guidelines for OB/GYN ultrasound practices.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in performing OB/GYN ultrasound exams, including prenatal, pelvic, and gynecological studies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and interpret results.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist patients with positioning during ultrasound procedures.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as necessary. May need to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable in a clinical environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.

• Full-time/ Day, Monday – Friday
