Wind River Canine Partners, LLC is seeking a kennel manager to lead a team of dedicated, dog-loving individuals at a busy boarding, training, and daycare facility between Lolo and Florence, MT. This position is responsible for training, supervising, and coordinating our team of Kennel Technicians, as well as collaborating with your co-manager and the business owner for the successful daily operations and functioning of our facility. The kennel manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing the job functions of our kennel technicians, including but not limited to:
· Caring for the daily needs of up to 30 dogs (feeding, water, cleaning of kennel areas and yards, etc.)
· Fielding customer inquiries
· Booking reservations, creating invoices and tickets, taking payments
· Basic maintenance and repairs
This position must be able to perform all the duties of the Kennel Technician position. The kennel manager reports directly to the business owner.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Train, supervise, and assist the kennel technicians in their performance of their duties
· Provide strong leadership and supervision to kennel technicians.
· Create employee schedules for the kennel department that align with the needs of the facility.
· Make recommendations to the business owner concerning personnel matters, disciplinary actions and follow through.
· Provide guidance and direction to kennel team, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Conduct timely performance evaluations, mediate interpersonal problems and address concerns from kennel technicians
· Facilitate monthly all-staff meetings and attend bi-monthly manager meetings with co-manager and business owner.
· Coordinate with trainers and business owner regarding dog behavior, particularly those enrolled in training programs, and make adjustments as needed to kennel/yard charting and organization based on business needs
· Observe and report any repairs and maintenance to your co-manager and the business owner.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Strong communication, leadership and motivation skills. Has the ability to effectively solve problems dealing with team conflict to personnel issues and performance. Has the ability to direct, guide and assist a group of individuals.
· Critical thinking - Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
· Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and the ability to learn and utilize our Point of Sale system, scheduling software, and kennel software.
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position, working 36-40 hours per week. Typical shifts will be 4 9-hour shifts, with 3 days off. Must work one weekend day.
Pay starts at $18-$21/hour, DOE, with annual performance reviews and increases
