What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Wind River Hotel and Casino?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of the main duties/responsibilities: other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
- Maintain accurate handling of guest and company funds by processing all transactions and documentation in accordance.
- Exchange gaming chips and tickets, cash checks, credit/debit transactions, and hand pay/jackpot payouts.
- Maintain till balance and safeguard casino cage assets during assigned shift.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assist guests with inquiries and advise on current promotions.
- Maintain professional appearance and workstations.
- Performance of duties requires standing for majority of shift.
- Must adhere to all Tribal Ordinance, Regulations, Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), System of Internal Controls (SICS), and Casino Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Available nights, weekends, holidays, and other times as deemed fit by manager.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work with numbers and cash accurately.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to operate calculators, computers and money counters for cash and coin.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events.
- Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability. Must be competent in computer skills.
- Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
- Must have significant experience in a gaming environment.
- Complies with policies and procedures.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must be licensable under the requirements of the Northern Arapaho Gaming Agency.
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have a valid Wyoming driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in a second-hand smoke, high noise, bright lights, dusty and smoke-filled environment.
- Must have ability to deal with and adapt to frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events at times.
- Must be able to work sitting at workstation for duration of the shift
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
